California Coastal Commissioner Sara Aminzadeh is a nationally recognized, award-winning climate change leader, lawyer, and published author.

Over the past two decades, Sara has been a champion addressing our clean water and climate change crisis, focusing on action to protect communities from extreme weather, devastating wildfires, and rising sea levels. Sara has advocated for a woman’s right to choose, increased access to quality health care and mental health access, responsible transportation alternatives, and economic development- focusing on clean energy and other sustainable businesses.

A graduate of UC Santa Barbara, Sara earned her JD from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Recently, Sara served as Senior Advisor and Vice President of Partnerships of the US Water Alliance, a national nonprofit organization that advances water access for all through national, state, and local partnerships and investments.

A resident of Kentfield in Central Marin County, Sara is also an Alternate Delegate to the Marin County Democratic Central Committee and enjoys stand-up paddle boarding, hiking, running, and spending time with her husband Max and son, Henry.
